What is THCA isolate?
THCA isolate is near-pure tetrahydrocannabinolic acid — the raw, non-psychoactive precursor to THC. When heated (dabbed, vaped, or smoked), it decarboxylates to THC. Unlike CBD or CBG isolates used in edibles and topicals, THCA isolate is primarily a concentrate ingredient for inhalation products.
Is THCA isolate the same as a distillate?
No. THCA isolate is a crystalline solid — near-pure THCA with no oil carrier. Distillate is a decarboxylated oil, typically Delta-8 or Delta-9 THC. Isolate is for concentrates and dabbing. Distillate is for vape carts and tinctures.
Can I use THCA isolate in edibles?
Yes, but you need to decarboxylate it first. THCA on its own is non-intoxicating. Heat activates it to THC. Decarb the isolate in an oven before incorporating it into your recipe.
